Felicitation on completing Basic Beautician Course

On 13th May 2026, RCMSEP held a special felicitation program for 16 young women who successfully completed a 20-day Basic Beautician Course. The skill development and women’s upliftment initiative, which commenced on 19th April 2026, was aimed at empowering the participants with practical skills to help them become more independent and employable. The participants are residents of the Gautam Nagar basti.

Donation of Matresses to Latashri Old Age Home

On 3rd May 2026, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab extended support to Latashri Ashram by donating 12 mattresses that were being given away by Sri Guru Nanak Darbar, Sher-E-Punjab. The initiative was coordinated by Rtn. Jotinder, who played a key role in ensuring that the mattresses were properly relocated and re-housed for the benefit of the residents. The members of the old age home were extremely thankful and grateful for the support, as the mattresses brought added comfort and care to the senior citizens residing at the ashram.

Mega Medical Camp -Guru Nanak English High School

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab, in collaboration with Chingari Shakti Foundation and CACR, successfully organized a Free Medical Health Check-Up Camp at Guru Nanak English High school for Teachers & Parents. The camp aimed to provide comprehensive preventive healthcare services to the staff and parents. A wide range of free medical tests and consultations were offered, including Blood Pressure, CBC, Thyroid, Blood Sugar (Fasting & Random), Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Total Cholesterol, TSH, Free ECG, and Dental Check-up. Dr. Samiksha served as the Consulting Doctor for the camp and provided valuable medical guidance to the beneficiaries. Eye Check-ups were conducted during the camp, and free reading spectacles were provided to beneficiaries wherever required. An Anemia Check-up was also carried out, and medicines were provided free of cost to patients as prescribed.

Mega Medical Camp at Sri Guru Nanak Darbar

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab, in collaboration with Chingari Shakti Foundation and CACR, and supported by Sri Guru Nanak Darbar Gurudwara, Sher-E-Punjab, successfully organized a Free Medical Health Check-Up Camp at Sri Guru Nanak Darbar, Sher-E-Punjab, Andheri East. The camp aimed to provide comprehensive preventive healthcare services to the community and received an overwhelming response, with 238 people registering for the camp. A wide range of free medical tests and consultations were offered, including Blood Pressure, CBC, Thyroid, Blood Sugar (Fasting & Random), Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Total Cholesterol, TSH, Free ECG, and Dental Check-up. Dr. Samiksha served as the Consulting Doctor for the camp and provided valuable medical guidance to the beneficiaries. The Dental Check-up was conducted by Rtn. Dr. Vaishali from the Rotary Club of Mumbai Kalakaar, who extended her professional services with great dedication.

Mega Medical Camp Held at Vasant Oasis

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab, in collaboration with Chingari Shakti Foundation and Life of Gratitude, organized a Free Medical Services Camp at Vasant Oasis, Community Hall, Marol. The camp was conducted with the objective of providing accessible healthcare services to the community, especially to the underprivileged and senior citizens. A team of qualified doctors and healthcare professionals offered the following free medical services: General Medical Check-up, Blood Tests, ECG, Eye, Dental and Anemia Check-up. The medical team ensured consultation, diagnosis, and appropriate medical guidance for further treatment. RCMSEP expresses its gratitude to Ms. Sheela Yadav for providing the ECG machine. We also sincerely thank all the doctors and medical technicians who dedicated their time and expertise to serve the beneficiaries and ensure smooth and efficient medical services throughout the day. The Rotary Club of Mumbai Shere-Punjab delivered an outstanding performance at ROTAL 2025-26, showcasing remarkable talent, enthusiasm, and teamwork across singing and dance categories. With stellar performances by participants across all age groups, the club proudly secured 12 awards, including multiple First Prizes in solo, pair, and group events.The club also achieved two prestigious Special Club Awards-Maximum Number of Entries and Maximum Number of Winners, reflecting the club’s strong participation and consistent excellence. This remarkable achievement is a true celebration of creativity, confidence, and the vibrant spirit of our members. Congratulations to all the winners and participants for bringing immense pride to the Rotary Club of Mumbai Shere-Punjab. The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab President, along with Simran Oberoi, performed a beautiful Punjabi dance duet at ROTAL 2026 and won the 1st Prize. The Rotaractors and Interactors also performed and won trophies.

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab, in association with Tolani College of Commerce, Andheri East, successfully conducted an E-Waste Awareness Speaker Session for Class 11 students. The session was delivered by Rtn. Jotinder Singh Ahluwalia, who explained the growing challenge of electronic waste in India and its serious environmental and health impacts. He sensitively highlighted what happens to discarded electronic items, the dangers of informal e-waste handling, and the importance of authorised recycling and the circular economy. The program was highly interactive and concluded with an engaging “Kaun Banega Green Warrior” (KBC-style Q&A), which generated enthusiastic participation, healthy competition, and insightful questions from students. The session successfully raised awareness among young minds and encouraged responsible electronic consumption and disposal practices. It was a meaningful step towards nurturing environmentally conscious and responsible citizens.

Shrishti 2026 Fashion Show - RC Maruti School

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab organized SRISHTI 2026 – Fashion That Breathes Green, an eco-themed fashion show promoting environmental awareness through sustainable and conscious fashion. The event featured creative use of recycled clothing, jewellery, shoes, and sarees, highlighting the importance of reuse and eco-friendly living. The project was led by Dr. Sunita Sharma, ensuring a beautifully planned and well-executed program. Choreography was handled by Ms. Komal, costume designing by Ms. Neha Vishwakarma, backstage coordination by Ms. Salima, and makeup and grooming by Ms. Shamim. The event was judged by Rtn. Pinkky Rajgarhiya (Mrs. Asia Universe – 2017) and Rtn. Eakta Menon (Gladrags – Mrs. India – Finalist), whose presence inspired the participants. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, successfully conveying that fashion can be stylish, sustainable, and environmentally responsible.

This meaningful activity aimed to promote dignity, inclusion, and equality while supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Donation of Refurbished Classroom Benches

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab extended its support to Moreshwar Vidyalaya and Junior College, at Moregaon, Nalasopara East, by facilitating the donation of 59 classroom benches. These benches, which were being discarded by Swami Vivekanand School, Andheri East, were thoughtfully repurposed and provided to Moreshwar Vidyalaya, where they were placed across 2 classrooms, significantly improving the seating facilities for students. Each bench accommodates three students, with seating used for 2 shifts, thereby enhancing classroom capacity. Through this initiative, approximately 374 students have directly benefited from improved and comfortable seating arrangements. The club expresses its sincere appreciation to Chingari Shakti Foundation for playing a vital role in identifying and connecting us with the donor school, making this meaningful initiative possible. This project stands as a reflection of Rotary’s commitment to education, sustainability, and maximising resources.

Shaheedi Run - A Run with Purpose and Pride

RCMSEP proudly supported the Shaheedi Run, organized by Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Darbar, Shere Punjab Society, to commemorate the 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The run witnessed enthusiastic participation from people of all age groups, promoting the values of unity, discipline, and healthy living. Participants had the option to run or walk, making the event inclusive and accessible to all. The event route was approx. 4 km from Gurudwara Sri Guru Nanak Darbar, Sher-E-Punjab, to Guru Nanak Mission High School – Chakala, and returning via Mahakali Road. All participants were felicitated with medals and certificates, while winners were awarded trophies and cash prizes. The event was further graced by the presence of MLA Shri Murji Bhai Patel, who graciously presented the trophies to the winners, adding prestige and encouragement to the occasion. The success of the Shaheedi Run was a result of meticulous planning and excellent coordination.

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab donated 20 kgs of cat food for stray cats following a requirement received from Fuzzy World. This initiative was undertaken under our flagship project of RAW - Rotary for Animal Welfare, to support the feeding and care of abandoned and community cats who often struggle to find regular nutrition and care on the streets. This contribution will help the organisation continue its efforts in protecting and caring for stray animals. Urban Upliftment Program at Sharada High School

Rotary District 3141 inaugurated two Smart Classrooms at Sharada High School, Sakinaka, Mumbai, reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to strengthening education through technology. The inauguration was graced by Rtn. Dr. Manish Motwani, District Governor, RID 3141, as the Chief Guest, who highlighted the importance of digital learning in preparing students for the future. The project was implemented under The Urban Vocational Upliftment Program, led by Rtn. Rajendran Unnikrishnan, and was spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Bombay Metropolitan. RCMSEP organised SPARKLE 2026, the first fundraising event for the year—a beauty pageant for a cause: Cancer Detection and Care. We had 3 age categories: 18 to 30, 31 to 50, and 51 and above. Participants were from varied backgrounds who had never walked the ramp before. To help them prepare, RCMSEP organized a complimentary grooming session a week before. The participants were thankful for this grooming and personal care education. It set a wonderful foundation for the event. On the 21st of Feb, the first elimination rounds were kept where participants were judged on various categories. The selected participants were called the next day for Final Rounds of the pageant. This event was aligned to the theme of Disease prevention & Treatment.

Donation of 2 refurbished All-in-one computers

On 28th February 2026, two All-in-One Computers were donated to Shaista and Bhavna in Pune. The support request was raised by Monica Menon, who brought the girls’ situation to our attention. Both these young girls come from humble backgrounds. Their parents work as domestic help, yet they aspire to provide a brighter future for their daughters by ensuring they receive a college education. These computers will greatly support their academic journey and help them move closer to achieving their dreams. A heartfelt thank you to Minishaa for generously donating the computers and contributing towards shaping the girls’ future. Special appreciation to Satinder Pal Ahluwalia for personally carrying the computers to Pune and ensuring they were safely delivered safely to the beneficiaries. A Health Checkup Camp was successfully organised with the support of the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab at Kayra Party Hall, Jogeshwari East. The camp offered essential healthcare services to women from the community, like free Haemoglobin Check-up, Free Eye Check-up Camp, and free reading glasses were given. A total of 75 ladies benefited from the health camp, making it a meaningful outreach initiative focused on preventive healthcare and early diagnosis. A key highlight of the event was the awareness session on the Pink Auto Scheme for Women, promoting financial independence and empowerment. We were honoured by the presence of Alka Murli, President of the Rotary Club of Mumbai Deonar, who visited the camp and explained the Pink Auto process, its eligibility criteria, and the various benefits available to women. Her guidance provided clarity and motivation to many attendees interested in becoming self-reliant.

CPR Training Workshop - Tolani College of Commerce

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab organized a CPR Training Workshop for the students and teachers of Tolani College of Commerce. The session was conducted by renowned Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Akshay Mehta, who shared valuable knowledge about responding to cardiac emergencies and the importance of timely intervention in saving lives. A total of 155 students attended the workshop and participated enthusiastically in the interactive session. Dr. Mehta explained the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest, helping the students clearly understand these often-confused medical conditions. He also guided them on how to recognize early signs of a cardiac emergency and the immediate steps that should be taken to help a victim. The highlight of the session was the demonstration of CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) techniques and the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). Students learned how to perform chest compressions during cardiac emergencies.

The speaker explained practical steps that individuals and communities can take to respond effectively during emergencies. A total of 125 students attended the session and actively listened to the discussion, gaining a better understanding of how disasters can be managed through awareness, planning, and coordinated efforts. To make the session more interactive and engaging, a quiz was conducted. This impactful initiative was conducted under the leadership of President Minishaa I. Oberoi, whose vision continues to guide the club for empowerment.

Smile Box Project- Annapoorna - Dignity Foundation

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab successfully conducted the Smile Box Annapurna initiative at Dignity Foundation. The project was beautifully hosted by Rtn. Sunita Sharma to celebrate the birthday of her grandson Ahan Sharma, in a meaningful and compassionate way. Instead of a conventional celebration, the occasion was marked by serving love and nourishment to those who truly needed it. A total of approximately 95 senior citizens were served a delicious and wholesome lunch, which brought immense joy and satisfaction to everyone present. The atmosphere was filled with warmth and positivity. The program began with heartfelt prayers, creating a serene and grateful environment. This was followed by a cheerful rendition of “Happy Birthday”, making the celebration special and memorable for Ahan. The senior citizens were deeply touched by the gesture. Their smiles, happiness, and heartfelt blessings for the child were truly priceless and reflected the true spirit of giving.

Inauguration of Computer Learning Center - Gurukul

On 5th May 2026, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab proudly marked a significant milestone by inaugurating a Computer Learning Centre at Gurukul, Marol. This centre is dedicated to empowering underserved communities with essential digital skills. The initiative was spearheaded by Nayee Umang Charitable Trust, with support from the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab, along with partner organisations Life of Gratitude and Lok Udaan. The vision was shared with President Rtn. Minishaa Oberoi, who played a key role in ensuring the successful execution of this project. As part of the initiative, five computers and a 55-inch TV were donated to the centre. Additionally, Rtn. Arun Bhoocher and Seema Bhoocher generously contributed five computer chairs, further strengthening the facility. The centre was inaugurated by our District Governor Dr. Manish Motwani and MLA Shri Murli Kanji Patel (Andheri), marking a significant step toward promoting digital inclusivity in the community.

Cancer Screening Camp-Prashik Soc., Aarey Colony

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab co-hosted a Cancer Screening Camp in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers, aimed at promoting early detection and preventive healthcare among the community. The initiative was conducted at Prashik Welfare Society, Aarey Colony Road. The program focused on providing essential diagnostic and preventive healthcare services to the community. A range of important tests were conducted to assess overall health, including kidney function parameters such as Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), Calcium, Creatinine, Uric Acid, estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR), BUN/Creatinine Ratio, and Urea. These tests are crucial in identifying early signs of kidney-related issues and ensuring timely medical intervention. Breast Cancer screening and Pap Smear tests were also conducted for women to create awareness and encourage early detection. Awareness sessions were conducted to educate beneficiaries about the importance of regular health check-ups.

On 12th March 2026, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab successfully organized a Dental Check-Up Camp for the primary students of Little Flower English Medium High School, Andheri East. The camp was conducted by Dr. Nikita Shah from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM with the aim of promoting oral health awareness and ensuring early dental care among children. The initiative was generously supported by President Rtn. Minishaa I. Oberoi, Rtn. Sunita Sharma, and Rtn. Surjit Ahluwalia, whose contribution helped make the program possible. During the camp, students received dental examinations, guidance on maintaining proper oral hygiene, and awareness about the importance of regular brushing, healthy eating habits, and timely dental treatment. A total of 120 children benefited from this meaningful project. The camp was highly appreciated by the school staff, students, and parents, as it encouraged healthy habits and brighter smiles among the young beneficiaries.

Around 125 ladies enthusiastically participated in the event, making it a grand success. The atmosphere was filled with happiness, energy, and togetherness as everyone came together to celebrate the spirit of womanhood. The program included exciting games, fun activities, and a lively pageant, where participants confidently showcased their style, grace, and talent. Many ladies also enjoyed dancing to cheerful music, creating a festive and vibrant environment. Winners of the games and pageant were awarded prizes, which added to the excitement and joy of the celebration. The smiles and laughter of all the participants reflected the success of the event. CPR Training Workshop -MET Int of Pharmacy, Bandra

RCMSEP, in collaboration with MET Institute of Pharmacy, successfully conducted a CPR Training Workshop for students and teachers at the MET Institute of Pharmacy, Bandra West, Mumbai. The session was conducted by Dr. Akshay Mehta, an experienced Interventional Cardiologist, who provided valuable insights into life-saving techniques. The workshop covered important topics such as the difference between a heart attack and cardiac arrest, recognising emergency situations, performing CPR, and the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) machine. A key highlight of the session was the hands-on training. Four CPR dummies were arranged to ensure practical learning, and all students actively participated in performing CPR under expert guidance. The AED machine was also demonstrated, helping participants understand its importance and correct usage during emergencies. The workshop witnessed the participation of around 150 students and faculty members.

On May 1st, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab, in collaboration with the Chingari Shakti Foundation, donated two steel cupboards, each worth ₹17,000, to the Aanganwadi school at Ganesh Mitra Mandal Aanganwadi, Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri East. THE PAPER CIRCLE PROJECT

In the month of April 2026, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab launched a successful Paper Collection Drive, aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and literacy. We collaborated with other Rotary clubs, schools and residential societies across Mumbai, reaching out to key partners including the Rotary Clubs of Mumbai Airport, Mumbai Greens, Mumbai Mulund South, and Juhu Beach. Support also came from societies like the Residents of L&T Emerald Isle, Kanakia Silicon Valley, Friends of Trees, Palash Tower, and other local communities. Thanks to their generous participation, we collectively gathered nearly 4,000 kilograms of paper and books. After collection, the materials were sorted: storybooks were earmarked for use in recycling libraries, while used notebooks and textbooks unsuitable for reuse were sent for recycling. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our donors, supporters, and Rotary members who made this drive possible.

On the 22nd of April 2026, a second truckload of these items worth Rs. 15000 was sent out by the team. This was collected in and around the area and is being regularly sent to Aahaar Sadan Sanstha, which then further recycles these items and gives them free of cost in the various villages where they work. The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab received a request for support from Rtn. Meghana on 22nd April 2026 for a learning centre in Delhi. The club promptly took up the cause, with Rtn. Monica leading the initiative and raising funds through her network. The support was for Little Stars Home, a centre for around 150 children from waste picker families, where they learn and grow in a safe environment. Their stationery supplies had been exhausted. A donation of ₹4,000 was made towards stationery for the children, generously contributed by Ms. Sunita Chabbria and Ms. Sonali Sawant. Through timely efforts and collective support, the club ensured continuity in the children’s learning. This initiative reflects the true spirit of Rotary—making a difference where it matters most.

The day began with an energizing yoga session and movement activity led by our dear friend and volunteer, Ms. Beerpal Kaur. The children joyfully learned simple yoga postures, breathing exercises, clapping, and movement. This was followed by a captivating Gita Explorers session by our member, Rotarian Simran J, where the children were introduced to simple teachings and values from the Bhagavad Gita. The session was thoughtfully designed—interactive and story-based—helping the children grasp meaningful life lessons. The Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-e-Punjab, in partnership with Gur Samarath Foundation, organised its flagship event, the Vastra Mela for 2 days at the Sher-e-Punjab Society. The first day of the event commenced at 11:00 AM and was a resounding success. The Vastra Mela is a unique initiative aimed at recycling and repurposing clothing, shoes, and bags that are still in excellent condition. These items, which would otherwise be discarded, are sorted, displayed on racks, and made available to underprivileged members of society at a nominal cost. Branded clothing from labels such as Calvin Klein, Wrangler, AND, Mango, Cottonworld, Lee, W, Westside, Raymonds and many more were all on offer, priced between ₹20 to ₹50. Throughout the day, large crowds gathered, starting from 11:00 AM until 7:30 PM. The Rotary Club members, along with volunteers, provided full support—counting proceeds, sorting clothes, and guiding shoppers so that everyone had a smooth and joyful experience

Plantation Drive At Thakur Village - Kandivali

Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab (RCMSEP), organised a plantation drive in collaboration with Friends of Trees, Rotaract Club JES College Parivartan, and JES NSS on Saturday, 15th November 2025 at Dream Park, Thakur Village. It was a truly inspiring and impactful initiative. Between 7:00 and 9:30 AM, our club adopted 10 pits and provided 230 saplings, compost, and all required equipment, with 45 enthusiastic students and 3 dedicated club members participating. The students worked together with excellent teamwork, energy, and commitment. Their contribution was deeply appreciated by everyone present. At 9:30 AM, we were joined by BMC officials and BJP representative Mr Dave, who acknowledged the efforts being made toward a greener community. After the plantation activity, all teams assembled at the amphitheatre for refreshments, sharing experiences, a vote of thanks, and group photographs. We also appreciate the support provided by Friends of Trees.

Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-e-Punjab celebrated the inspired Diwali 2025 with a special initiative, Diwali with Dignity on 19th October 2025. We invited 70 members from Humsafar Trust, an LGBTQ+ organization, to Smart Sahakari Bhandar at Andheri East, and gifted them smart cards worth ₹1,500 each. They were free to choose whatever they needed, whether it was shoes, clothes, bags, utensils, or anything else that would bring them joy this Diwali. We had visualized this event at the start of the year, and were so glad it came together. Realising the importance of CPR, RCMSEP organised a CPR Training Workshop conducted by team from Critical Care Unified, led by Ms. Lilly Mathias, Ms. Babymon & Dr. Falak. The event was organised by RCMSEP jointly with the Rotaract Club of JES College Parivartan. The workshop featured an informative talk on the subject, followed by hands-on CPR practice on 2 dummies. Rakshabandhan celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, where sisters tie a rakhi on their brother’s wrist symbolizing love, trust, and family unity. The brothers who are disabled and stay away from their sisters, in a Home for the Disabled, yearn for this bonding. It is with this objective, that RCMSEP celebrates Rakshabandhan every year, with these diabled resident inmates of the Cheshire Home. As the lady members tied Rakhi, the Club also distributed sweets, fruits and 2 mattresses to them. Many of these inmates are bedridden or unable to walk, and have been staying at the home for over 40 years without family ties. Our visit brought immense joy to these individuals, and we promised to return soon for a fun-filled day of games and interaction. The residents were delighted to see familiar faces, and we look forward to nurturing this bond. RCMSEP heartily thanks the Cheshire Home management for providing us an opportunity, to spread the message of love and to spread happiness.

Timely medical care is essential to prevent complications, reduce mortality, and ensure faster recovery. Together, they ensure better health outcomes and a more equitable medical ecosystem. Realising this, RCMSEP organised a drive to collect medical equipment and unused medicines, that are well within their expiry date, for further donation to needy villages and hospitals. A new Oxygen Concentrator and collected medicines were donated to Manavjyot Trust at Mulund, for further distribution to needy community. RCMSEP members celebrated the birth of Lord Krishna, by participating in the Annapoorna (Smile-Box) event with the children and residents of Subhash Nagar Slums. RCMSEP has formed a “Rotary Community Corps” (RCC) in this Subhash Nagar area, and named as RCC – Jeevdani Sevaks, under the able leadership of the local social worker and her team. The event included Pooja, serving of Pav-Bhaji and sweets, distribution of stuffed-toys and Oreo biscuit packets to all the participants. Distribution of Sanitary Pads and Menstrual Hygiene Awareness at Smt. Kamala Mehta School for the visually impaired RCMSEP organized a meaningful initiative at Smt. Kamala Mehta School for the Blind, focusing on the distribution of Sanitary pads and promoting menstrual hygiene awareness among the girls. 327 sanitary pads (4 packets per girl) were distributed towards menstrual health of the visually challenged girl students. Snacks were also served to the girls, adding to their joy and comfort. Dr. Nilima Inamdar from Rotary Club of Mumbai West Coast, graciously delivered an engaging lecture on menstrual hygiene in Marathi, in a very easy manner, facilitating complete understanding of the subject for the participants.

Donation of Wooden Table & Snacks for Aanganwadi on occasion of Shruti Bhoochers birthday. Continuing with an objective to promote and facilitate provision of an efficient education ecosystem, RCMSEP conducted need assessment of the local area and identified a Childrens Aanganwadi, operating out of a nearby slum pocket, that needed infrastructural upgradation. The children attending this Aanganwadi come from nearby slum pockets and cant afford to be sent to Nursery schools or Play schools. RCMSEP team supplied the school with Wooden Table, Floor Mats, Blackboard, Snack packets and toys (for individual children & educational toys for the Aanganwadi) for the young children - Rs. 16600 (Tables – 8000, Snacks & toys – 6000, Floor Mats – 1200, Educational toys & Black board – 1400). The donations sponsored by the Bhoochar family was also towards celebrating the birthday of their daughter Ms. Shruti Bhoochar.

Bamboo Eco-tourism Picnic at Vikramgad

RCMSEP organised a fellowship eco-tourism picnic to Vikramgad-Palghar, that specialises in Warli art painting and Bamboo craftsmen . Warli painting, a tribal art form, is prevalent in Vikramgad, which is characterized by simple geometric shapes and stick-like figures depicting scenes of daily life, nature, and rituals. The objective was to do need -assessment and understand the initiatives undertaken by the village to encourage women empowerment while promoting traditional art & craft. Members were involved in making Bamboo craft and tried their hands on Warli drawing under the guidance of the experts. It was a delight to watch the local folk dance of the village women and the members also shook their leg to the tunes of their songs and to the tunes of Bhangra. Also visited Shrushti Bamboo Oxygen Park to understand aspects of Bamboo.

In response to the challenges faced by stray dogs and cats during the monsoon season, the Rotary Club of Mumbai Sher-E-Punjab (RCMSEP) launched its "Rotary for Animal Welfare" (RAW) initiative to provide shelter homes for these animals. Manufactured by Rtn. Arun Bhoocher, 50 shelter homes were donated and transported to Lonavala on July 14th. The beneficiaries, recommended by Addl. Collector of Mumbai, Ms. Suchita Bansode, will greatly benefit from this initiative. The project was formally inaugurated by Inspired DG Rtn. Dr. Manish Motwani, along with district dignitaries, including DS Rtn. Deepakraj Lala, AG Rtn. Mary Francis, and Rtn. Sandeep Kedia. The DG appreciated the project and announced its adoption at the district level, with RCMSEP as the lead club. The DS and AG also commended the initiative.

A new batch of 11 dog shelters was dispatched to Thane, offering a safe haven for these animals. Additionally, a beautifully designed cat shelter, crafted by our club member, was presented to President Minishaa I Oberoi for her adopted cats.
