Overview
CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training is vital as it empowers ordinary people to save lives during sudden cardiac emergencies. It helps maintain oxygen and blood flow to vital organs until medical aid arrives. Since most cardiac arrests occur outside hospitals, quick CPR by bystanders can double or triple survival chances. Even simple hands-only CPR is effective. Training communities in CPR creates confident first responders and a safer society.
Realising the importance of CPR, RCMSEP organised a CPR Training Workshop conducted by Dr. Akshay Mehta, leading Interventional Cardiologist, and accompanied by Dr. Snigdha Mehta. The workshop featured a presentation on heart attack and cardiac arrest, hands-on CPR practice on a dummy, and demonstration of using an AED machine. The residents and staff of Oberoi Prisma, also received valuable tips on identifying fainting vs. cardiac arrest.
