Rakshabandhan with the disabled senior citizens

09 Aug 2025 Cheshire Home, Andheri East

Overview

Rakshabandhan celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters, where sisters tie a rakhi on their brother’s wrist symbolizing love, trust, and family unity. The brothers who are disabled and stay away from their sisters, in a Home for the Disabled, yearn for this bonding. It is with this objective, that RCMSEP celebrates Rakshabandhan every year, with these diabled resident inmates of the Cheshire Home. As the lady members tied Rakhi, the Club also distributed sweets, fruits and 2 mattresses to them. Many of these inmates are bedridden or unable to walk, and have been staying at the home for over 40 years without family ties. Our visit brought immense joy to these individuals, and we promised to return soon for a fun-filled day of games and interaction. The residents were delighted to see familiar faces, and we look forward to nurturing this bond. RCMSEP heartily thanks the Cheshire Home management for providing us an opportunity, to spread the message of love and to spread happiness.
